Judges Panel

A Proposed Judges Panel Framework.

During the recent Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM), the Council introduced a proposed framework concerning the structure and future organisation of an official GFCCI Judges Panel.

Due to time limitations during the meeting, and in order to allow members adequate opportunity to study the proposal in greater detail, it was agreed that this important matter would be postponed for further discussion at the next Annual General Meeting (AGM).

During the discussion, it was noted that there are currently more than 100 individuals recognised as judges within the Gloster Fancy worldwide. While many of these individuals contribute positively to the Fancy, concerns were raised that there is presently no single recognised or accredited framework clearly defining standards, qualifications, and oversight for an internationally recognised judges panel.

The purpose of the proposed framework is therefore to explore the possibility of establishing a structured, transparent, and properly accredited system that safeguards the credibility of judging while recognising the experience and dedication of qualified judges across the Fancy.

The Council believes that judging remains one of the most important pillars of the Gloster Fancy, and that any future structure must be developed carefully, with thoughtful input from members and the wider Gloster community.

Further discussion and possible decisions regarding the proposed framework will therefore take place at the next Annual General Meeting.

Members and interested parties are encouraged to refer to the official minutes of the EGM for a full record of the discussion.
