The Name:
The organisation will be called the Gloster Fancy Canary Council International (GFCCI) and shall operate as an international governing body for the Gloster Fancy Canary. The Council may affiliate with recognised national and international avicultural organisations where appropriate.
Aims and Objectives:
The GFCCI shall serve as the official international governing authority for the Gloster Fancy Canary, promoting and protecting the official standard of excellence, exhibition regulations and worldwide standardisation of the Fancy. It shall establish and maintain a uniform framework of rules under which Gloster activities may operate internationally and shall maintain an international register of approved judges, nominated and supported by the relevant GFCCI national representatives and approved by the Council. The GFCCI shall provide advice, guidance and, where necessary, jurisdiction through its Council Members, each of whom represents the Gloster Fancy within their respective Club or Country.
Council meetings, including the Annual General Meeting, may be hosted in any country by any GFCCI Council Member who submits a valid proposal to do so, provided that full electronic participation and voting facilities are made available to all other Council Members. It is envisaged that the majority of Council business shall be conducted by electronic communication, ensuring efficient and inclusive international decision-making..
Membership:
Council members shall be selected for their experience in the Gloster Fancy at an international level.
Each country that organises a recognised All Gloster specialist show shall be entitled to nominate one individual for appointment to the Council. Each such nomination must be seconded by an existing Council member and shall be submitted for approval at the next GFCCI meeting.
Within the United Kingdom, each recognised specialist Gloster club shall have the right to nominate one individual for appointment to the Council.
The Council shall operate with a number of members determined by the AGM, ensuring fair and balanced international representation. Council members shall be subject to election and re-election in accordance with Council rules.
As the recognised governing body of the Gloster Fancy Canary, the GFCCI shall not operate a system of club affiliation. Representation within the GFCCI shall be exercised through duly appointed Council members, who shall speak and act on behalf of their respective countries or recognised specialist Gloster clubs.
Any contributions, levies, or financial support required for the operation of the GFCCI shall be determined by the AGM and administered by the Council Secretary/Treasurer. Payments may be made by approved methods, including international electronic transfer.
Officers of the Council:
The officers of the Council shall consist of a Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson, General Secretary/Treasurer, and International Secretary, elected biannually at the AGM. All officers must be present Council members. The offices of Chairperson and General Secretary/Treasurer shall be held exclusively by citizens of the United Kingdom.
